Hello, world. Again.
Why I'm starting a blog in 2026, what you'll find here, and the one rule I'm holding myself to.
I’ve started blogs before. Three, if you count the one with a single post titled “First post!” that I never touched again. So why try again?
Because I keep learning things and then forgetting them. A neat terminal trick. A habit that quietly fixed my mornings. A story idea that showed up in the shower and left before I found a pen. This blog is where those things go now.
What you’ll find here
There are three kinds of posts, and you can tell them apart at a glance:
- ⚡ Tech tips: things I picked up while building software. Practical, copy-pasteable, no fluff.
- 🌱 Personal tips: small habits and lessons. Nothing life-changing, just life-improving.
- 📖 Short stories: tiny pieces of fiction. Five minutes, start to finish.
The one rule
That’s also why posts here aren’t just walls of text. Sometimes there’s a quiz. Sometimes there’s a checklist you can actually tick off. Sometimes a story will stop and ask you what you would do.
Go ahead, try it:
Why is the site called 'aleng.'?
Aleng is the name I go by (my real name is Halim), and the dot makes it feel finished. Like the end of a sentence. Or a blog post you actually read to the end. 😉
How to follow along
There’s an RSS feed if you’re one of the cool kids who still uses a feed reader (you should, it’s great). Otherwise, just come back whenever you need a coffee break.
See you in the next one.
